In Body, I invited residents in all eight wards of Washington DC to respond to the questions,
"What do you most desire?" and "What have you lost?" Participants wrote their responses
directly on eight life-sized body casts of my body, one for each ward of the eight wards. In
the culminating performance at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, May 28, 2011, I presented one
additional cast for visitors to the museum to write on. Then in the final performance I used my
body to collapse all nine body casts together. This final performance was accompanied by a
recording of my reading the losses and desires that had been written on the casts.
